The Brock Industrial Park supply chain has documentation obligations
Brock Industrial Park is 869 hectares of energy, environmental, engineering, manufacturing and logistics work with Ontario Power Generation as the largest employer. A lot of the firms in it are suppliers into that chain, and a prime contractor in a regulated industry passes its documentation requirements down to its suppliers.
In practice that means the thing we normally describe as an optional add-on becomes mandatory: every link tested against a named standard, with results supplied per link as a signed report, and a labelling scheme that matches a drawing rather than matching whatever was convenient.
This is one of the few places we will actively recommend paying for certification testing. Not because the cable is better afterwards, it is identical cable, but because the report is the deliverable your customer is buying, and producing it two years later means re-testing everything.
If you are not in that chain, we will still tell you what we tell everyone else: labelling and continuity testing come as standard on every job and are enough for most businesses. Certification is for when somebody is going to ask.
Whites Road is zoned with no outdoor storage, which rules out the easy answer
Whites Road Prestige Business Park is 21 hectares zoned for offices and professional services, explicitly without outdoor storage. Zoning like that tends to come with site-plan control over anything visible on the exterior of a building.
The practical effect: the cheap way to get a cable between two buildings or around an obstruction, which is surface conduit up an outside wall, is often not permitted or not approvable. That leaves underground, which means trenching and a locate, or a wireless bridge, which means line of sight and no trench.
We price both and let you choose. What we will not do is run it up the outside and hope nobody from the city notices, because the person who eventually notices is your landlord.
New builds in the Innovation Corridor: the specification is the whole job
The Innovation Corridor north of Seaton is 324 hectares of new prestige employment land with Kubota Canada and FGF Brands among the anchors. On a new build in a development like that, you are usually working to a consultant's specification rather than deciding for yourself.
Our useful role there is often reading that specification honestly before you sign it. Specifications get copied between projects, and we regularly find one asking for a cable category, a testing regime or a redundancy arrangement that does not match what the building is going to be used for. Sometimes it under-specifies. More often it over-specifies, and you are paying for headroom nobody will use.

Yes, as a separately quoted add-on: every link tested against the named standard with results supplied per link. We quote it separately rather than including it by default because most clients do not need it, and quietly billing everyone for a report that goes in a drawer would be the easier business decision and the wrong one.
Our prime contractor sent a specification. Will you work to it?
Yes, and we will read it first and tell you if anything in it is unusual, obsolete or more than your building needs. Working to a specification is straightforward. Working to one nobody has questioned is how a project carries somebody else's assumptions from three years ago.
How far is Pickering from you?
West Pickering is the far edge of our service area. For scheduled project work that is no issue at all. For same-day break-fix we will be honest about the drive rather than promise a response time we would miss, and if a closer provider suits you better for that we will say so.
