Using this site

By using redsilicon.ca you accept these terms. If you don’t, please don’t use the site. We may update this page; the version published when you use the site is the one that applies.

Accuracy of what’s here

We’ve written every page on this site to be accurate and we correct things when we find them wrong. But the site is general information about services, not advice for your specific building, network or security requirement. Nothing here is a substitute for a site survey.

Two specifics worth stating plainly, because they matter:

Prices and product details change. Anything on this site quoting third-party pricing — software subscriptions in particular — is accurate as far as we know at the time of writing and should be verified with the vendor before you rely on it.
Technical guidance is general. Where a page explains what a service typically involves, that’s a description of usual practice and not a commitment about what your job will require.

Quotes and enquiries

Submitting a form or calling us doesn’t create a contract. Nothing on this website is an offer capable of acceptance. Work is quoted after we understand the site and the requirement, and a contract exists once a written quote is accepted by both sides.

Quotes are valid for the period stated on them. Where a quote depends on conditions we haven’t been able to verify — what’s inside a wall, what’s on an existing panel, whether a pathway exists — the quote will say so, and we’ll re-quote rather than surprise you with a variation.

Intellectual property

The design, text, code and graphics on this site belong to Redsilicon unless stated otherwise, and are protected by Canadian and international copyright law.

You’re welcome to read it, print it, share links to it, and quote reasonable extracts with attribution and a link back — that’s what it’s for. What you can’t do is republish substantial parts of it as your own, or copy the structure and text of these pages onto a competing site. Product names and logos belonging to other companies are their trademarks, used here to describe what we work with, and mentioning them doesn’t imply their endorsement except where a partnership is explicitly stated.

Links to other sites

We link out to manufacturers, standards bodies, partners and resources we think are useful. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, their accuracy or how they handle your information. A link isn’t an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.

On our Partner Network page, entries marked as confirmed partnerships are exactly that, and nobody pays to be listed. Anything that ever is paid or incentivised will be marked as such.

Availability

We aim to keep the site up but don’t guarantee it’s always available or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice. It’s a marketing website — if you need us and it’s down, phone.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for loss arising from your use of this website or reliance on its general information — including lost profits, lost data or business interruption.

This does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t lawfully be excluded. It also doesn’t affect your rights under consumer protection legislation, and it says nothing about our liability for work we actually perform for you — that sits in the contract for that work, alongside our insurance.

Acceptable use

Don’t use this site unlawfully, don’t attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or anything connected to it, don’t scrape it to build a competing service, and don’t submit anything through our forms that’s abusive, false or someone else’s personal information without their knowledge.

Privacy

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario.
