Digital signage you can update yourself

Digital signage fails for two reasons: consumer TVs that aren't built to run twelve hours a day, and a content system so awkward that the screen still shows last season's promotion in March.

At a glance

  • Commercial-grade displays
  • Menu boards for food service
  • Update content from anywhere
  • Scheduled by day-part or date

Commercial displays exist for a reason

A consumer television is designed for a few hours a day. Signage runs twelve or more, often in bright ambient light and sometimes in portrait orientation. Commercial panels are built for that duty cycle, are brighter, and are rated for continuous operation — which is why they don't fail in eighteen months.

Whoever updates it decides which system to buy

The most important question in a signage project isn't the screen. It's who updates the content and how often. If that person isn't technical, the system has to be genuinely simple or the screens will go stale.

We set up the CMS around that person, and train them on it before hand-over.

Common questions

Before you call

Can we update the screens ourselves?

Yes — that's the point. We configure the CMS around whoever will be doing it and train them before we leave. You shouldn't need to call us to change a price.

Can menu boards change automatically at set times?

Yes. Day-parting is standard — breakfast switches to lunch on schedule without anyone touching it.

Will a regular TV work?

It will work for a while. Consumer panels aren't rated for continuous operation and tend to fail early, and they're usually too dim for a bright room. For anything running all day, commercial is cheaper over its life.

What happens after a power cut?

The players we use restart into their playlist automatically. Screens coming back to a setup menu after an outage is a classic signage failure and it's avoidable.
