The threat people under-insure against
Break-ins get the attention, but a heating failure over a cold weekend bursts pipes, and burst pipes do enormous damage before anyone arrives on Monday. Water detection under a server rack or behind a water heater costs very little and has prevented losses many times its own price.
So we design intrusion systems that also cover water and low temperature — because the sensor is cheap and the loss it prevents isn't.
Where we stop: fire alarm systems
Worth saying plainly, because plenty of companies blur it. Commercial fire alarm systems in Ontario must be installed, verified and monitored under ULC listing, and we are not a ULC-listed fire alarm contractor. We don't install fire alarm systems and we don't monitor fire alarm signals.
What we do fit is intrusion, flood and freeze detection on a security panel, with professional monitoring on those signals. If your building needs a fire alarm system or its monitoring transferred, we'll tell you that up front and point you at a ULC-listed contractor rather than quoting for work we're not licensed to do.
Zoning so alerts mean something
A single-zone alarm tells you 'something happened somewhere', which is close to useless at 2am. A properly zoned system tells you which door, which room, which floor — so you know whether to call somebody out or whether it was the cleaner.

Common questions
Before you call
Do we need monitoring, or is an app alert enough?
An app alert depends on you seeing it and acting. Monitoring means somebody is watching at 3am on a long weekend when you're not. For premises with stock or equipment, monitoring is usually worth it.
Can you add to an existing alarm?
Often yes, depending on the panel. We'll assess what's there and tell you honestly whether extending it or replacing it is the better spend.
What about false alarms?
Most false alarms come from badly placed sensors — motion detectors pointed at heat sources or a door that moves in the wind. Correct placement and zoning is what prevents them.
Do you cover flood and freeze as well as break-ins?
Yes, and we'd encourage it. Water damage causes far more business losses than theft, and a freeze sensor that warns you before pipes burst is one of the cheapest devices you can fit.
Do you install or monitor fire alarms?
No. Fire alarm systems in Ontario are ULC-listed work and we're not a ULC-listed fire alarm contractor, so we don't install them or monitor fire signals. We fit intrusion, flood and freeze detection and monitor those. If you need fire, we'll refer you to someone properly listed for it.
