Alarm monitoring for business and home
A siren tells whoever's nearby that something happened. Monitoring tells someone whose job it is to do something about it — at 3am, on a holiday weekend, when nobody is nearby.
At a glance
- 24/7 central station
- Intrusion, flood and freeze signals
- Cellular and IP signalling paths
- Monthly, on your existing panel where possible
Why the signalling path matters
An alarm that reports over a phone line stops reporting when the line is cut — which is the first thing anyone competent does. Modern monitoring uses cellular signalling, often with an IP path alongside it, so cutting one doesn't silence the system.
Supervised paths also mean the central station knows if communication drops, rather than assuming silence means everything is fine.
Escalation done properly
The escalation list is the part most people never review. Who gets called first, what happens if they don't answer, who is authorised to cancel a dispatch, and whether the list still contains someone who left two years ago. We set it up with you and revisit it.
What's included
What you get
- Central station monitoring — 24/7/365 with redundant facilities.
- Multi-path signalling — Cellular with IP backup so a cut line doesn't silence the panel.
- Intrusion, flood and freeze — Break-in, water and low-temperature signals monitored, not just burglary.
- Key-holder escalation — Your contact order, followed and logged.
- Open/close reporting — Know when the premises were armed and disarmed, and by whom.
- Panel supervision — Alerts if the panel stops communicating or loses power.
How it runs
The process, start to finish
Every job follows the same shape, so you always know where you are in it.
Panel assessment
We check whether your existing panel can be monitored as-is.
Communicator
Cellular or dual-path communicator fitted if needed.
Account setup
Zones, escalation list and site details registered with the station.
Test signals
Every zone tested through to the central station and confirmed.
Go live
Monitoring active on a monthly subscription.
Annual review
Escalation list and zone accuracy reviewed each year.

Common questions
Before you call
Can you monitor the alarm we already have?
Very often yes. Most panels can be monitored with the right communicator added. We'll assess yours and tell you before quoting.
What if the phone line is cut?
Modern monitoring signals over cellular, usually with an IP path as well. Cutting a phone line doesn't stop the panel reporting, and the station is alerted if communication drops.
Who gets called when the alarm goes off?
Your key-holder list, in the order you set. We build it with you at setup and review it annually — stale contact lists are the most common failure we see.
Do you monitor fire alarm signals?
No. Fire alarm monitoring in Ontario is ULC-listed work and we're not a ULC-listed fire alarm contractor. We monitor intrusion, flood and freeze signals on a security panel, and we'll say so plainly rather than take on something we're not listed for.
Is there a long contract?
Monitoring runs as a monthly subscription. We don't think you should be locked into a multi-year term to have someone answer an alarm.
