ServiceM8, set up so your team actually uses it

ServiceM8 is job management software for trades — quoting, scheduling, on-site paperwork, invoicing and payment in one place. Buying it is easy. Getting it configured around how your business really runs is where most implementations stall. That's the part we do.

  • Electricians
  • Plumbers
  • HVAC
  • Locksmiths
  • Cleaners
  • Landscaping
  • Pest control
  • Appliance repair

What it replaces

  • Paper job cards and carbon-copy books
  • A whiteboard schedule only one person understands
  • Invoices written up in the office days later
  • Photos scattered across staff phones
  • Re-typing everything into your accounting software

The problem it solves

The job is done. Now it takes three days to get paid.

For most trade businesses the bottleneck isn't the work — it's everything wrapped around it. A tech finishes at 4pm, the paperwork reaches the office Thursday, someone types up an invoice Friday, and it goes out a week after the job was finished.

ServiceM8 collapses that. The quote is built and sent from site. The job is scheduled against the right person with the right notes. Photos, signatures and forms are captured on the phone as part of the work. The invoice goes out before the van has left the driveway, and payment can be taken on the spot.

ServiceM8 reports that businesses average 30% more work in their first three months on the platform. Whether you see that depends almost entirely on how well it was set up — which is why we don't just hand over a login.

What we do

Implementation, not just a licence

Anyone can sign you up. These are the six things that decide whether ServiceM8 is still being used in six months.

Setup & configuration

We build your account around how you actually work — job templates, categories, queues, badges, staff permissions and your quote and invoice templates in your branding.

Data migration

Clients, contacts, job history and price lists moved across from spreadsheets, paper, or whatever system you're leaving. Nothing gets retyped.

Workflow design

The part most people skip. We map your real process — enquiry to quote to schedule to invoice — then build it in ServiceM8 so the software matches the business, not the other way round.

Forms & certificates

Your compliance paperwork rebuilt as electronic forms, completed on site with photos and signatures attached to the job.

Integrations

Accounting sync with Xero or QuickBooks, online booking on your website, payment processing, and your existing tools connected via the ServiceM8 API.

Training & roll-out

Office staff and field techs trained separately, because they use it completely differently. We stay involved through the first weeks when the questions actually come up.

The difference

Signing up yourself vs. having it implemented

Both get you a ServiceM8 account. Only one gets you a system your team keeps using.

How a rollout runs

From first call to fully live

Discovery session

We sit down and map how work actually flows through your business today — including the parts that only live in someone's head.

Account build

Job templates, categories, queues, badges, staff, permissions and branded quote and invoice templates configured to match.

Data migration

Clients, contacts, job history and price lists brought across and checked. Nothing gets retyped.

Forms & integrations

Compliance paperwork rebuilt as electronic forms; Xero or QuickBooks connected with correct account and tax mapping.

Training

Office staff and field techs trained separately — they use it in completely different ways and shouldn't sit through each other's session.

Go live & support

We stay close through the first few weeks, when the real questions surface, and tune the setup as you use it.

Common questions

ServiceM8, answered

What is ServiceM8?

ServiceM8 is job management software built for trade and service businesses — electricians, plumbers, HVAC, locksmiths, cleaners, pest control and similar. It handles the whole job lifecycle: enquiry, quote, scheduling, on-site paperwork, invoicing and payment. It runs on iPhone and iPad for field staff and in a browser for the office.

Do we need to be technical to use it?

No — and that's rather the point of having it set up for you. Field staff typically need one short session. The complexity sits in the initial configuration, which is the part we do.

What does it cost?

ServiceM8's own plans run from free to $349/month depending on how many jobs you complete each month; all paid plans include unlimited users. Our implementation is separate and quoted per project — it depends mostly on how much existing data needs migrating and how complex your workflow is.

Can it work with Xero or QuickBooks?

Yes, both. The sync is one of the biggest time savings available, but it needs the account and tax mapping set up correctly at the start — get that wrong and you'll spend longer fixing entries than you saved.

What if we already use ServiceM8 but badly?

That's a common call. We audit the existing account, find what's not being used or is set up wrong, and rebuild the parts that are costing you time. You keep your history.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Field staff can work through a job with no signal and it syncs when they're back in coverage — which matters in basements, plant rooms and rural sites.

Why use Redsilicon rather than doing it ourselves?

You can absolutely do it yourself, and some businesses should. What you're buying from us is the workflow design and the migration — the two things that determine whether the software actually gets used after month two, and the two things that are painful to redo once you've started wrong.
